The Bishops of the Arizona Catholic Conference (ACC) are grateful that Governor Doug Ducey has signed HB 2693 into law.
HB 2693 increases the amount of tax credits that donors can receive for making contributions to qualifying charitable organizations serving the poor and assisting children in foster care. These organizations include many faith-based and secular organizations that provide necessary services to the most vulnerable in our society, including the homeless, pregnant woman, and children.
By indexing these tax credits to the rate of inflation, these nonprofit organizations will be better prepared to provide the resources that help so many in need. Accordingly, we sincerely appreciate Representative Ben Toma for sponsoring this legislation and for all the legislators who voted in support.
